Hosting and delivery of the website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare delivers the pages via a worldwide network of data centres and protects them against attacks. To do this, Cloudflare processes the data that your browser transmits for technical reasons each time a page is opened: IP address, date and time, requested address, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page.

Cloudflare acts as our processor. The data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is part of Cloudflare’s terms of service. Cloudflare also uses certain connection data under its own responsibility, for example to detect attacks across its entire network. More information is available in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

To see which pages are opened, how often, and where visitors come from, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. For this, your browser loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports to Cloudflare the page view, the referring page, browser, device, load time and the country that Cloudflare derives from the IP address. No cookies are set, nothing is stored in the browser and no profiles of individual visitors are created. We only see totals.

We do not store any server log files ourselves and have no access to Cloudflare’s logs. Cloudflare stores connection data only as long as necessary for delivery and security, primarily in the USA and in the European Economic Area.

LEGAL BASIS
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in a fast, secure and reliably available website and in knowing which content is used.
03

Transfer to the USA

Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Transfers to certified companies are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, the contract with Cloudflare contains the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) in case the certification lapses.

04

No cookies, no storage in the browser

We do not set cookies and, in normal operation, store nothing in your browser. Only when you submit the enquiry form does your browser keep your details until the tab is closed, so that you can save a copy on the thank-you page. One further exception is possible: if Cloudflare detects suspicious traffic during an attack on the website, a security check may appear. After you pass the check, Cloudflare sets a technically necessary cookie (“cf_clearance”) so that the check does not repeat on every page view.

LEGAL BASIS
§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, because the cookie is strictly necessary to provide the website, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in defending against attacks.
05

Fonts, images and videos

We deliver fonts, images and videos from our own web space. No content from third-party providers such as Google Fonts, YouTube or map services is loaded. Links to other websites are plain references. Only when you click such a link does your browser connect to the other provider.

06

Enquiry form

When you send us an enquiry via the form, we process your details: name or contact person, email address, optionally address and phone number, the details of your part such as dimensions, quantity, material, medium, pressure, temperature and application, your comments, and uploaded files such as drawings or photos, up to 3.5 MB in total. Your browser reduces large photos before sending. Only name, email address and comments are required. Without these details we cannot answer your enquiry.

A function on Cloudflare’s servers receives the form and sends it to our mailbox via Cloudflare’s email service. Neither the function nor the email service stores content or attachments. Cloudflare only logs delivery data such as sender, recipient, time and delivery status. On the enquiry page, Cloudflare Turnstile uses technical characteristics of your browser to check whether the enquiry comes from a human. For this, your browser loads a script from challenges.cloudflare.com when the page is opened, and no cookies are set. To prevent mass misuse of the form, we count enquiries per connection for one hour using a check value from which your IP address cannot be derived. After that, we delete the check value. After sending, you can save a copy of your enquiry on the thank-you page. This file is created only in your browser.

We use the details only to process your enquiry, prepare a quotation and clarify related questions.

LEGAL BASIS
Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if the enquiry aims at a quotation or an order, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries. We process voluntary details on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by ticking the box in the form and can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
RETENTION PERIOD
We delete the enquiry once it has been dealt with, unless retention obligations apply. If the enquiry leads to an order, we keep the documents for the periods required by commercial and tax law, usually six or ten years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO).

About your drawings: We treat technical documents confidentially and use them only for costing and production. They are passed on only to upstream suppliers who need to be involved for your part, and only to the extent necessary.

07

Contact by email or phone

If you email or call us, we process your contact details and the content of your message to deal with your request. Legal basis and retention period follow section 6.

08

Job applications

We process application documents to decide on filling a position. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, supplemented by § 26 BDSG. If no employment results, we delete the documents no later than six months after the procedure ends, unless you have agreed to longer retention.

09

Recipients

Within our company, only the people who process your enquiry have access. Outside the company, data is received only by Cloudflare as host, our IT and email service providers as processors, upstream suppliers where needed for your part, and authorities where we are legally obliged. We do not sell data and do not pass on data for advertising purposes.

There is no automated decision-making or profiling under Art. 22 GDPR. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
